Shoot Portobello is a team event for friends and families, young and old (2-4 people per team). All each team needs (having registered) is a single digital camera and bags of creative energy. Once the clue sheet and map is collected from the rendezvous point (Westbourne Grove Church) teams then spend the afternoon immersed in the area, deciphering clues/taking photos as answers.
Once complete, teams return to www.westbournegrovechurch.org Westbourne Grove Church to submit their photos, where they then relax as a slideshow of the days images commences and the judging of entries gets underway.
As far as participant skills required, creative interpretation, community interaction and emotional input are valued above technical proficiency, so participants needn’t worry if they’re not a professional photographer!
The day finishes with drinks and the all-important awards – winning teams for each clue/overall categories receive fantastic prizes (e.g. Olympus cameras). |
