we have waited years for this and at last rough trade have collected the 13 early scritti politti single tracks that were originally released on their own st pancras records via rough trade. nearly all tracks appear on cd for the first time. these cuts are scratchy, rhythmic and scrappy and sound as awkwardly brilliant as the day they were released. it's the most brittle, essential and urgent music made during the booming diy / post punk era of the late 70's.
included is the original version of the latter day hit 'the sweetest girl'.
