the debut from bromheads jacket lays testament to their view of the current british indie scene and comes on like a sharp slap in the face. their accomplished style of songwriting sets them apart straight from the off with their witty and inventive humour of a casual observance of the ordinary. their overwhelming lack of pretension and down to earth nature make this a killer debut and if comparisons were needed i guess they would sit somewhere between the streets, alternative tv, 77 punk and the lyrics of ray davies. produced by pulp's steve mackay, this is raw, minimal but very much fantastic. do not miss one of my personal favourite albums of the year. on marquis cha cha.
