while this release is a mix, it is also an artist album; a collection of all new original productions from villalobos himself, including collaborations with jorge gonzales, patrick ense and fumiya tanaka. born in chile but residing in berlin, villalobos is considered to be one of the most significant figures in today's minimal techno scene, having released his first record on the german playhouse label in 1994 and starting his career as a professional dj in 1998. also producing under the guises of bispeed black, richard wolfsdorf, and termiten, villalobos has also released music on the perlon, frisbee tracks, sister phunk and lo-fi stereo labels. his 5-hour plus dj sets are legendary the world over, with record attendance at some of the world's most musically progressive venues including fabric, amnesia, blend, womb and panorama bar.
