marble sounds is the latest creation of pieter van dessel who is also one half of the electro-pop duo plastic operator. marble sounds' first ep, 'a painting or a spill', forms part of new guitar oriented solo work which builds on his uplifting, yet melancholic and sweetly acerbic sound. often compared to eels or beck, marble sounds gets its inspiration from bands such as pinback, sparklehorse or the beach boys. marble sounds takes pieter's songwriting to a new level, reflecting today's desire to hear, feel and think about songs rather than simply listen to them.
