envelopes return with their brilliant sophomore album 'here comes the wind'. hailing from stockholm, malmo and paris, envelopes are a five piece brought together by a shared love of skewed, lo-fi pop. produced by envelopes and tore johansen (franz ferdinand, cardigans, new order), the album features the singles 'party', 'life on the beach' and 'smoke in the desert, eating the sand, hide in the grass'. the sound is unfashionable, but timeless, meticulously created but frayed around the edges. in its creation the band have clearly taken in all things beloved to them - b52's, yo la tengo, os mutantes, nico, pixies and stereolab all spring to mind, distilling them through their own, unique pop filter to create a sound that reminds you of all your favourite bands, but ultimately like no-one but themselves.
