first few copies come with a separate special edition 4 track bonus disc that features a live performance recorded especially for this release at the premises studios, including two acoustic versions of tracks and covers of tv on the radio and daniel johnston. at last, another good shoes album! 'no hope, no future' features, amongst others, the single 'under control' - which finds good shoes at their danceable best, with a bouncing, rocking indie dancefloor filler about the number one suburban pastime - sex. as usual, the track is super melodic and catchy, but heavier than past offerings and still with the trademark good shoes sound. each track on the album convulses in ways you simply can't expect, from the metronome tickling track %'i know', pushing all minor keys as thunderous as an intensely melodic tornado, to the despairing 'everything you do' transforming rhys' voice into a bluesy serenading conjurer of wise words.
