Alton Miller

Alton Miller is a Detroit-based artist who has been immersed in music since the 1970s. Influenced by Motown, Philadelphia, Parliament-Funkadelic, and Santana, he developed a passion for dance music during the early '80s. Miller's friendship with Derrick May inspired him to start spinning records and he drew inspiration from Chicago DJs like Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles. Together with George Baker and Chez Damier, Miller co-founded the legendary Music Institute club in Detroit. After its closure, he explored Conga drumming while continuing his DJ career.

Miller collaborated with Derrick May at Transmat Records before releasing his own music under the alias Aphrodisiac. He gained recognition through releases on Fragile, KMS, Serious Grooves, and other labels. In the mid to late '90s, Miller solidified his presence in Detroit through DJ performances and impressive releases. His debut album on Distance received critical acclaim for its house sound.

In recent years, Alton Miller has remained active in the music scene. He relaunched InnerMuse Recordings in 2015 with his unique style showcased on "Whereabouts Known." During Movement 2016 in Detroit, he reunited with Chez Damier for a memorable performance organized by Kai Alce. Additionally, Miller introduced Adeen Record label with his EP "More Positive Things" and released "The Vault" on Neroli record label.
