Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach was an award-winning American pianist and composer, born on May 12, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is best known for his pop hits from 1962-1970, which he composed and often performed himself. His songs were mainly written by Hal David, with whom he had a successful collaboration. Bacharach also worked briefly with Hal's brother Mack David and his ex-wife Carole Bayer Sager.

Throughout his career, Bacharach was married to several notable women including actress Paula Stewart (1953-1958), actress Angie Dickinson (1965-1980), songwriter Carole Bayer Sager (1982-1991), and finally Jane Hansen since 1993. In recognition of his talent and contributions to music, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1971.
