Freda Payne

Freda Charcilia Payne, born on September 19, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan, is an accomplished American singer and actress. She began her career at a young age, appearing on various television and radio shows while still in school. In the 1960s, Payne gained recognition for her performances on popular talk shows and joined notable artists such as the Four Tops and Quincy Jones on tour. Her breakthrough came when she signed with Invictus Records in 1969 and released the hit single "Band of Gold", which topped charts worldwide. Throughout her career, Payne has recorded numerous albums and toured extensively. She has also ventured into acting, starring in several films and theater productions.

Known for her soulful voice and captivating stage presence, Freda Payne continues to captivate audiences with her timeless music.
