Gary Burton

Gary Burton is an American jazz vibraphonist and composer. He developed a unique style of four-mallet chording on the vibraphone, which made him stand out as an innovator in the field. Despite being one of the few openly gay musicians in jazz history, his career remained unaffected when he came out in his 40s. Unfortunately, health issues forced him to retire from performing at the age of 74 in 2017.
