Gram Parsons

Gram Parsons was an American singer/songwriter, guitarist and pianist, born on November 5, 1946 in Winter Haven, Florida. He is best known for his work within the country genre and his creation of Cosmic American Music by blending blues, folk, and rock. Parsons recorded as a solo artist and also played with notable bands such as The International Submarine Band, The Byrds, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Married to Gretchen Carpenter from 1971 until his untimely death at the age of 26 on September 19, 1973 in Joshua Tree, California due to an overdose of morphine and alcohol.

With a musical style that transcended traditional boundaries, Gram Parsons left a lasting impact on the music industry. His unique blend of genres created a sound that resonated with audiences worldwide.
