Heather Leigh

The daughter of a coal miner, Heather Leigh was born in West Virginia and raised in Texas. She has been recording and releasing music since the 1990s. Currently based in Glasgow, Scotland, she co-runs Volcanic Tongue Record Shop & Mailorder. Her music is known for its "high metal masses for amplified strings and vocals that blow all notions of form and fidelity to pieces."

Heather Leigh has released numerous recordings on various labels including Not Not Fun, Family Vineyard, Fag Tapes, Ultra Eczema, Chocolate Monk, Kendra Steiner Editions, Ikuisuus, Eclipse Records, Fonal as well as her own imprints Wish Image and Volcanic Tongue. She is skilled in playing multiple instruments such as pedal steel guitar, electric guitar, keyboards, bells, cuatro, psaltery drums bass harmonica.

As a solo artist or collaborator with artists like Ash Castles On The Ghost Coast and Charalambides among others, Heather Leigh has toured extensively throughout the US Europe New Zealand.
