Immolation

Immolation is an old school death metal band hailing from Yonkers, New York. Formed in 1986 as Rigor Mortis, the band consists of Andrew Sakowics (vocals, bass), Thomas Wilkinson (guitar), Robert Vigna (guitar), and Dave Wilkinson (drums). After some lineup changes, including the addition of Ross Dolan on vocals and bass, Immolation recorded several demos before changing their name. They released a compilation album called "Stepping on Angels? ...Before Dawn" in 1988. Over the years, they have released albums such as "Dawn of Possession," "Here in After," and "Close to a World Below." With their intense sound and powerful performances, Immolation has become a force to be reckoned with in the death metal scene.

In 1991, Neal Boback was replaced by Craig Smilowski on drums for the recording and release of their album "Dawn of Possession" through Roadrunner Records. The band later parted ways with Roadrunner Records and signed with Metal Blade instead. Alex Hernandez took over drumming duties from Smilowski as they embarked on numerous tours.
