Linkin Park

Linkin Park is an alternative/modern rock band hailing from Agoura Hills, California. They are known for being one of the most popular bands in the "nü-metal" movement, alongside other notable acts. Their unique sound incorporates a wide range of influences including metal, alternate rock, hip-hop, electronica, and industrial. With their debut album "Hybrid Theory," Linkin Park achieved immense success worldwide, selling over 30 million copies with 12 million sold in the US alone. They have also released a corresponding remix album.

The band was originally formed as Xero in the winter of 1995/96 but later changed their name to Hybrid Theory in 1999. After signing with a developing artist label called Warner Bros., they were advised to change their name to avoid confusion with another music group. Eventually settling on Linkin Park in May 2000 after seeing a street sign for Lincoln Park in Los Angeles, the band made slight modifications to acquire the internet domain "linkinpark.com".

Tragically, frontman Chester Bennington passed away from suicide on July 20, 2017.
