Phuture

Phuture is a Chicago-based Acid House group founded in 1985 by DJ Pierre, Earl 'Spanky' Smith aka DJ Spank Spank and Herbert 'Herb J' Jackson. Their love for House Music began in the early 80's when they would listen to DJ Ron Hardy at the music box in Chicago. Inspired by his sound, they formed Phuture to produce their own music. In 1985, they stumbled upon a Roland TB-303 and created a new type of sound known as "Acid". Their debut track "Acid Tracks" caused a sensation in Chicago and ignited a fire in Great Britain. To this day, it remains an influential track that inspired many producers and fans.

DJ Pierre left the group in 1990, but Spanky continued with Phuture until 1996. He then formed Phuture 303 with various members. In 2014, Pierre and Spanky reunited as Phuture with newest member Rio "The Musician" Lee. They are currently working on new music and planning a tour.
