Pride

Pride was an American country singer, guitarist, and professional baseball player. He was the first African American country music star, with 30 No.1 hits in the US country charts and a Grammy win for Best Male Country Vocal performance in 1972. His talent earned him induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000.

Born on March 18th, 1934 in Sledge, Mississippi, Pride's journey began as a gifted musician and athlete. He showcased his exceptional skills both on stage and on the baseball field. With his captivating voice and heartfelt lyrics, he became a trailblazer in the genre of country music.

Unfortunately, Pride passed away on December 12th, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. His legacy lives on through his timeless music that continues to inspire generations of artists and fans alike.
