Richie Hawtin is a Canadian producer, label manager, and DJ born on June 4, 1970. With influences from Detroit techno, he has crafted his own unique style that spans from harder noisy techno to deep minimal abstract acid. Hawtin is best known for his alias Plastikman. He played a significant role in the development of the Final Scratch digital DJ technology and consistently embraces new technologies as they emerge.

In addition to his impressive career as an artist, Hawtin also founded several renowned techno labels including Plus 8 Records, M_nus, and Probe Records.

Prior to pursuing music full-time, Richie Hawtin worked at both a video game shop and McDonald's. These experiences have undoubtedly shaped his artistic journey and contributed to his success in the industry.
