Steve Reid

American jazz percussionist, producer, and engineer, Steve Reid was born on January 6, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska. He began releasing material in 1987 and achieved great success as a co-founder of the contemporary jazz group The Rippingtons. Reid also gained popularity among pop audiences as a member of Supertramp. Recognized as Jazziz magazine's Percussionist Of The Year in both 1993 and 1995, he released several solo albums including "Nova" (1994) and "Spirit Walk" (1996). Other notable works include "Bamboo Forest" (1997) under the name Steve Reid's Bamboo Forest and "Passion In Paradise" (2001).

Throughout his career, Steve Reid has showcased his exceptional talent as a percussionist through his diverse musical influences. His worldbeat-influenced debut album "Nova" received critical acclaim for its unique fusion of styles.
