The Fugs

The Fugs gained recognition for their performances at protests against the Vietnam War. Their album, It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest, released in 1968, helped to make them more widely known in Europe. Known for their frank lyrics about sex, drugs, and politics, the band received both hostile reactions and enthusiastic interest.

After playing their "final" concert of the 1960s with the Grateful Dead in 1969, the band reunited in 1984 with several performances at the Bottom Line in New York. In fall of 2004, a reunited Fugs toured with Josh Lieberman on glass harmonica.
