The Revolutionaries

The Revolutionaries are a Jamaican backing band known for their work as the in-house session band for Channel One label. Formed around drummer *Sly Dunbar* and bassist *Ranchie Mc Lean*, later replaced by *Robbie Shakespeare*, the band included various other talented Kingston musicians. They gained recognition when they backed The Mighty Diamonds on their 1976 album 'Right Time', which introduced fresh new Rockers rhythms to reggae music. This period marked the first collaboration between the legendary duo Sly & Robbie, resulting in a set of classic dubs created by Bunny 'Striker' Lee from sessions recorded at Channel 1.
