Wilko Johnson

Wilko Johnson (born 12 July 1947, Canvey Island, Essex - Died: 21 November 2022 at his home in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, UK) was an English guitarist and songwriter known for his association with the UK rhythm and blues band Dr. Feelgood in the 1970s. He was also a member of Solid Senders since the late 70s. Dr. Feelgood during Wilko Johnson's era has been credited as one of the founding influences of the British punk movement. Wilko himself drew inspiration from British guitarist Mick Green.

Inspiringly, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013 and given a limited time to live, Wilko miraculously recovered. Not only did he continue recording and touring but he also returned to acting in the popular TV series Game of Thrones.

If you enjoy music by Lew Lewis, Mickey Jupp, Dr. Feelgood or other artists like The Inmates, The Count Bishops, Brinsley Schwarz and more; then you will appreciate Wilko Johnson's unique style and contributions to rock music.
