Wilson Pickett

Wilson Pickett, an American R&B/Soul singer, was born on March 18, 1941 in Prattville, Alabama. He became one of the most popular black singers of the '60s and helped introduce the aggressive rhythmic style of soul music. With the support of exceptional studio bands at Stax Studios in Memphis, Tennessee and The Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama, Pickett achieved a string of R&B and pop hits on Atlantic Records between 1963 and 1972. Some of his notable songs include "In the Midnight Hour," "Mustang Sally," and "Funky Broadway."

Pickett's talent earned him induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as a performer in 1991.
