Perlon

Perlon is a minimal techno/microhouse record label that was founded in 1997 by Markus Nikolai, Thomas Franzmann (Zip), and Chris Rehberger. Originally based in Frankfurt and now located in Berlin, Perlon is widely recognized as one of the pioneering labels in the world of minimalistic and experimental techno. Their catalog includes renowned artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Baby Ford, Stefan Goldmann, Akufen, Pantytec, Dandy Jack, A Guy Called Gerald, Wareika, and many others.

All releases on Perlon are exclusively available in physical formats like vinyl and CD; they are not available for downloading. The label never accepts demos from aspiring artists. The name "Perlon" was originally a working title for one of the albums by Pile - a project involving Nikolai, Zip, and graphic designer Chris Rehberger who later created the iconic Perlon logo and designed covers for several releases.

In addition to their musical releases, Perlon also offers PERL 11 (1999) - a unique non-musical release in the form of a t-shirt. As an authoritative label with an extensive catalog spanning over two decades, Perlon continues to shape the landscape of minimal techno with its distinctive sound and uncompromising approach to music production.
