Description
1971: a year that witnessed the release of some of the greatest albums of all time, including The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers, Carole King’s Tapestry, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, Led Zeppelin IV, and John Lennon’s Imagine, to name but a few. But there was one more classic to come in November of that year – Cat Stevens’ Teaser and the Firecat. Stevens’ third LP on Island Records, and his third in 18 months, the album built on the extreme success of Tea for the Tillerman, and yielded some of his greatest songs including “The Wind”, “Moonshadow”, “Peace Train”, and “Morning Has Broken”.
5CD+ - Super Deluxe set - 4CD, Blu-Ray, 2LP and 7” set in a rigid clamshell box. Includes 41 previously unreleased demos, sessions and live tracks and 21 previously unreleased TV performances. Also contains a 50th Anniversary Remaster of the album overseen by original album producer Paul Samwell-Smith on CD and Blu-Ray HD audio plus a 7” single of ‘Moonshadow’, a 44-page 12” soft-cover replica of the original ‘Teaser and the Firecat’ book – written and illustrated by Yusuf – and an extensive 108-page hard-cover 12” essay book.
