Unholy was a Finnish Death/Doom Metal band formed in 1988. They were one of the pioneers of doom metal in Finland and gained underground popularity with their unique sound. After changing their name from [a2128395], Unholy signed with Lethal Records and released their first album, "From the Shadows," in 1993. Despite disbanding in 1994, they re-formed two years later and went on to release two more albums before officially splitting up in 2002. The band reunited briefly in 2009 but ultimately ended their comeback tour and disbanded for good in August 2012.

The last line-up of Unholy consisted of Pasi Äijö on vocals and bass, Jarkko Toivonen on guitar, Ismo Toivonen on guitar and keyboards, and Jan Kuhanen on drums.

Throughout their career, Unholy left a lasting impact on the death/doom metal genre with their atmospheric soundscapes and haunting melodies. Their music continues to inspire fans worldwide.

Peaceville is an English label founded by Paul Halmshaw, also known as Hammy, in 1987. The label primarily focuses on metal music and has gained a reputation for its high-quality releases. In 2000, Peaceville was sold to Snapper Music but continues to thrive under their ownership.

Throughout its history, Peaceville has used various catalog number formats to distinguish different types of releases. From 1987 to 1995, the label used "VILE ### T" for 12-inch singles, maxis, and EPs; "VILE ###" for LPs; and "VILE ### P" for picture LPs. From 1987 to 2002, CD releases were labeled as "CDVILE### / VILE ### CD," while MCDs/singles/EPs were labeled as "CDMVILE### / VILE ### TCD." Limited CDs were marked with "CDXVILE###."

In later years, Peaceville introduced new catalog number formats such as "CC#" for the Collectors Club series of 7-inch records in 1993-1994. Re-issued CDs with slipcases from 1999 onwards are labeled as "CDVILEM###." Since 2002, CDs have been designated as "CDVILEF###," limited CDs as "CDVILEF###X," MCDs/singles/EPs as "CD

Unholy, from Finland, formed in 1988 &amp; were among the first doom metal bands from the country. In the band's earlier years, starting under the moniker of Holy Hell, their style began as more a black/death/doom metal mix but progressed to a style of atmospheric, experimental doom metal. Unholy recorded 4 albums throughout their career before disbanding in 2002 &amp; leaving their legacy as a highly influential act in the Finnish doom metal scene, who are still highly respected today. The Second Ring of Power was the band's second studio album, originally released in 1994, and continued the boundary breaking approach to experimental doom metal which the band had established with debut album, From the Shadows, mixed with strong atmospherics &amp; unusual structures. Unholy has remained a cult act over the years.
