The Doors

The Doors were an American psychedelic rock/blues rock band formed in July, 1965 in Los Angeles, CA. The band was founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison. Following the death of Jim Morrison in 1971, the remaining members released two more albums but experienced limited success. In April 1973, the band ultimately disbanded. The Doors were later inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1993.
