Plant Life

Plant Life was a record label that operated from 1977 to 1984. Founded by Nigel Pegrum, who was the drummer for Steeleye Span at the time, the label saw notable releases from artists such as Maddy Prior and Wizz Jones in 1977. However, it was The Tannahill Weavers and Blowzabella who achieved the most success with their recordings on Plant Life. Pegrum himself produced the majority of the label's approximately 30 albums, while seven were produced by Mick Glossop. Towards the end of its existence, Plant Life began releasing records under license from other labels and had connections to Burlington Records.
