Pleasure For Music

Pleasure For Music (MFP) is a British label that was established in 1965 as a collaboration between Hamlyn and EMI Records. Originally selling low-cost re-issues and original material, MFP quickly gained popularity. With offices in various cities around the world, including London, Paris, and Sydney, MFP became known for its diverse music catalog.

In 1970, MFP's parent company was acquired by Reed Paper Group, which was later bought out by EMI in 1971. Despite these changes in ownership, MFP remained an independent company in Belgium. In 1973, a parallel label called [l41886] was launched to further expand their offerings.

Throughout the '70s and into the '80s, MFP faced challenges due to technological advancements and industry consolidations. However, they persevered as a global distribution network. In 1985, MFP introduced a new logo featuring purple labels under the MUSIC FOR PLEASURE/EMI name.
