Round Records

Round Records was a short-lived California label founded by guitarist/vocalist *Jerry Garcia* and manager *Ron Rakow*. The label was formed in 1973 with the intention of releasing solo material by Garcia and other projects related to the band *Grateful Dead*. While they did release several live albums, most of their releases were recorded at either The Grateful Dead's own studio, Club Front, owned by Phil Lesh, or at Pacific High Recording Studios, owned by Dan Healy. Unfortunately, Round Records ceased operating in 1976 when Rakow absconded with several hundred thousand dollars. This incident also caused Pacific High Recording Studios to stop trading as a fully independent unit.
