Smithsonian Folkways

In 1987, following the death of Moses Asch, owner of Folkways Records, the Smithsonian Institution acquired from his estate the rights, papers, and masters for Folkways Records. This was done with the Smithsonian's promise to keep all of the 2168 *Folkways* titles in print, which they continue to do to this day under the *Smithsonian Folkways* banner.

Under their ownership, *Smithsonian Folkways* has become a leading label in preserving and promoting traditional music from around the world. With a vast catalog that spans various genres including folk, blues, jazz, world music and spoken word recordings. Their commitment to keeping these important cultural artifacts accessible is commendable.

With Label Code: LC 9628 / LC 09628 and copyright credits given to [l270847], *Smithsonian Folkways* stands as a testament to their dedication in preserving musical heritage for generations to come.
