Voix Records

Sawt al-Sharq (صوت الشرق), also known as Voix De L'Orient, is a Lebanese record company and label founded by Abdallah Chahine. Managed by A. Chahine & Fils, the label was established in the mid 1950s and initially pressed records in the UK. In 1957, it formed a partnership with EMI, managed by Parlophone. Releases from 1957 onwards featured Parlophone on the sleeves and Arabic صوت الشرق on the labels. From the mid 1970s, EMI replaced Parlophone on the labels alongside صوت الشرق. Records for the French and North African market were released through Pathé. CDs from around 1987 solely featured Voix De L'Orient in French and Arabic, primarily pressed by Digital Press Hellas.
