West End Records

West End Records is a classic disco label that played a significant role in shaping the dance music scene of New York City during the late 70s and early 80s. Founded in December 1976 by Mel Cheren and Ed Kushins, this legendary label not only dominated NYC dance floors but also influenced DJs and dancers worldwide. Working closely with West End Records, the renowned Paradise Garage DJ Larry Levan helped create their distinctive sound.

After a period of reactivation in the summer of 1998, West End Records scaled back its web presence following the passing of Mel Cheren on December 7, 2007. However, this iconic label has once again been revived and now boasts an active website, signaling its return to business.
