Louisiana-raised vocalist Durand Jones and his band release their second album this time recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn. Drummer Aaron Frazer does the high vocals, Blake Rhein (a Number Group researcher) plays guitar, Steve Okonski plays keyboards and Kyle Houpt plays bass.

The bliss of the easy liquid sugar sound of vintage soul pours into your ears and acts like a soothing balm on your contemporary, over-worked over-hyped, over-processed modern brain. Kick back to a time when things were simpler, easier and just the most obviously gorgeous things for your ears to hear. Smooth and golden funk. Rolling drums, Slick and stylish shimmering organ, and some sweet Miami Vice beats. Pitch perfect smooth harmonies make backing vocals that can help you envisage the perpetrators as suited and booted with the sharpest shiniest creases. Just perfect. Shuffle beat and super neat. From a sweet soul whisper to a funksters scream via a sweet falsetto. All the tricks the trade served beautifully straight. No pastiche but a solid reinvention.
