Domino is an independent label founded in Putney, South West London by *a694357* and his partner Jacqui Rice in 1993. The label initially focused on American acts such as *Sebadoh*, *Pavement* or *Royal Trux* before signing British acts in the late '90s.

The label operates a US division, located in Brooklyn, which output was initially identified by its own catalogue number schemes, DOMUS then DNO (used until 2013), when the releases handled by the UK headquarters are identified by WIG (albums) and RUG (singles and EPs) catalogue numbers.

The company operating the label, *Warp Records*, diversified, establishing a publishing arm and a series of labels (*Double Six Recordings*, *Weird World Record Co.*, *Rephlex*, ...).

Experimental space rock band Flying Saucer Attack formed in Bristol, England in 1992. The core member of the group was David Pearce, with Rachel Brook also being a member for most of the band's lifetime.
Flying Saucer Attack became known for their quiet vocals and sheets of feedback, drawing comparisons to contemporary shoegazing bands like The Jesus and Mary Chain. Despite their experimental nature, they were able to build a small but enthusiastic fanbase.
What set Flying Saucer Attack apart was their approach to recording. They chose to record most of their music at home using a normal stereo system instead of traditional recording studios. This DIY approach gave them the freedom to experiment as much as they wanted and added a unique feel to their music.

Mirror would turn out to be Pearce’s final offering as Flying Saucer Attack for 15 years, but at the time of its release in 2000 it felt like the start of something exciting and new – it was seen in some quarters as one of the first great records of the millennium. Sonically, it was Pearce’s most accessible and melodic album. “His sombre, acoustic folk still recalls the gentle melancholy of Nick Drake,” said the Pitchfork review, “but for the first time, the melodies and lyrics can be clearly deciphered.”
