Scottish 'post-rock' band formed in Glasgow in 1995 by Stuart Braithwaite (guitars, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (guitars) and Martin Bulloch (drums). John Cummings soon joined as an additional guitarist.
Brendan O'Hare, formerly of Teenage Fanclub, temporarily joined the band in 1997 and contributed to their debut LP Young Team. O'Hare left at the end of that year. After touring with Mogwai in the summer of 1998, multi-instrumentalist Barry Burns was invited to become a full-time member.

Rock Action is a record label based in Glasgow, Scotland. With a focus on alternative and experimental music, Rock Action has been at the forefront of the independent music scene since its establishment. The label boasts an impressive roster of talented artists who have pushed boundaries and challenged conventions in their respective genres.

Mogwai’s The Bad Fire was recorded at Chem19 studios in Scotland with American Grammy Award winning producer John Congleton (St Vincent, Angel Olsen, John Grant) joining the band in the studio for their eleventh album. A Scottish colloquialism for Hell, The Bad Fire draws inspiration from a series of tough personal moments that the band found themselves in following on from their chart-topping tenth album, As The Love Continues. All vinyl comes packaged in a gatefold sleeve, with MP3 download code and etching. The photo booklet in the box sets includes a series of photographs taken by producer and Chem19 studio owner Paul Savage (Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai, Arab Strap ) during the band's recording sessions.
