Ride is an English rock band that was formed in Oxford in 1988. Known for their unique wall of sound, the band created a mesmerizing blend of massive distortion and direct melodies. Their music, often described as shoegazing due to the bandmembers' focus on their pedals while performing, drew inspiration from influential bands like My Bloody Valentine. However, Ride stood out with their exceptional songcraft and dynamic approach. Initially hailed as the last great hope of British rock, they quickly rose to fame but eventually faded from the spotlight.

Ride are back with their second album since reforming — it’s titled This is Not a Safe Place via Wichita. They once again teamed with producer Erol Alkan and mixer Alan Moulder, both of whom worked on 2017’s Weather Diaries, which came together quickly at the end of 2018. The first single is the sparkling Future Love which feature Ride’s lush, signature harmonies. They’ve always had a Byrds side to them and that plays out nicely here in a Twisterella kind of way.
