Supergrass is an English alternative rock band from Oxford. They were active from 1993-2010 and reformed in 2019 for live touring and a box set. The band was formed by Gaz, Mick, and Danny, with Gaz's older brother joining in 2002. During a brief hiatus in 2008, Danny and Gaz performed as a duo called The Hot Rats, while also playing as Diamond Hoo Ha Men. All members went on to have solo careers or collaborate with each other.
The band initially came together when two members of The Jennifers joined forces with Gaz after meeting at a pub where they all worked part-time. Supergrass gained popularity throughout the '90s and early 2000s with their unique sound that blended alternative rock with Britpop influences.
In addition to their successful albums like "I Should Coco" and "In It for the Money," Supergrass recorded an abandoned seventh album in 2009 that has never been released. Despite some internal conflicts, the band remains highly regarded for their energetic live performances and catchy songs.

BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world.

This limited edition Record Store Day, 10” plum coloured vinyl release features four of Supergrass’ key tracks from 2004-2005. Opening with the melancholic "St. Petersburg" the slow paced thinker that features an iconic and haunting piano riff that charted #22 in 2005 and as of 2022 is their most recent UK Top 40 Hit. Next up is a live version of the classic Supergrass stomper ‘Road To Rouen’ recorded at Somerset House in 2005. 
 
 The B side opens to a notably different arrangement of their classic track ‘Kiss Of Life’ recorded live at the Portsmouth Pyramid in 2005. Things take a turn as the EP signs off with ‘Coffee In The Pot’, a lively little Surf Rock inspired number that reminds the listener of Supergrass’ unique sense of humour. 
 
 The artwork has been recreated from the original ‘St Petersburg’ single artwork originally released in 2005, and features the famous statue of Peter the Great, from Saint Petersburg in Russia.
