Description
The sound bed to the Los Angeles, East Side, world of customised cars, beautiful Chicano ladies and notorious biker gangs. Lowrider culture developed in Los Angeles in the 1950s and ’60s. Latino youths took to customising their cars, lowering the wheelbase, painting them with ornate works of art and fetishising them as part of an emerging lifestyle. They were unique, sleek and designed to impress. They would cruise the streets and boulevards, parading their “low-low’s” and their decorated ladies set to a fusion of black and brown soul, doo-wop and smooth group harmony. Today Lowrider culture and music is more popular worldwide than at any other time in its sixty-year history. Original record values have hit an all-time high and current, young, breakthrough acts are covering and creating new Lowrider sounds. So, join us in our custom Impala for a ride through the East Side.
