Two versions of Sixteen Tons (Tennessee Ernie Ford's original and the Platters version), numbers by Elvis, Gene Vincent and Jo-Ann Campbell from the RnR era, original R&B by Chuck Willis, Wynonie Harris, Ike Turner, Dinah Washington and Ruth Brown, among others. There are also a number of more obscure recordings by Eddie Banks, Bill Carter, Merle Kilgore and Barbara McNair and finally Help Me by Sonny Boy Williamson II. Extensive and entertainingly written liner notes along with many photos and discographical details in the 36-page booklet as well as carefully processed recordings for good sound quality round off this wonderfully relaxed album.
