Scott Weiland

Scott Weiland (born Scott Richard Kline on October 27, 1967 – December 3, 2015 in Bloomington, Minnesota) was an American musician, lyricist, and vocalist. He is best known for his work with Grammy Award-winning rock band Stone Temple Pilots and supergroup Velvet Revolver. Weiland's onstage persona was flamboyant and chaotic, constantly changing his appearance and vocal style. Despite battling heroin addiction and facing several arrests earlier in his career, he remained free from heroin since 2002. Weiland's talent as a frontman made him one of the most successful artists to emerge from the 1990s.

In addition to his success with bands, Weiland also had a solo career that showcased his unique musical style. His powerful vocals earned him a spot at #57 on Hit Paraders list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists" in 2007.

Tragically, Scott Weiland passed away on December 3, 2015. His body was discovered by his personal manager in Weiland's tour bus.
