Slowthai

Slowthai

Slowthai is a British rapper hailing from Northampton, England. He is well-known for his gritty instrumentals and politically charged lyrics, particularly regarding Brexit and Theresa May's time as Prime Minister of the UK. Slowthai's stage name originated from his childhood nickname; due to a speech impediment, he spoke slowly and with a drawl. Originally known as Slow Ty, he changed it to Slowthai when he released his first single in 2016.

In 2019, Slowthai's album was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize.
