The Vapors

The Vapors are a relatively short-lived new-wave rock band from Guildford, UK. Formed around David Fenton, they enjoyed worldwide success with their second single "Turning Japanese." Managed by Bruce Foxton of The Jam and Paul Weller's father, John Weller, the band released two albums and toured extensively before disbanding due to disillusionment with the record industry. However, in June 2016, they reformed and started touring again. In March 2020, they released the singles "Crazy" and "Together," followed by their third album "Together" in May 2020.

The original lineup consisted of David Fenton on guitar and vocals, Ed Bazalgette on guitar, Steve Smith on bass and vocals, and Howard Smith on drums. The current lineup in 2020 includes David Fenton on guitar and vocals, Ed Bazalgette on guitar, Steve Smith on bass and vocals, Michael Bowes on drums, and Dan Fenton on guitar and vocals.
