Vangelis was a Greek composer and arranger known for his work in electronic, progressive, ambient, and classical orchestral music. Born on March 29, 1943, in Agria near Volos, Greece, he began writing music at the age of 4 and performed his first live concert at just 6 years old.

He started his career as a member of *Evangelos Papathanassiou*. In the sixties, he co-founded *Aphrodite's Child* alongside Demis Roussos and Lucas Sideras. He also found success as part of *Jon & Vangelis* in the early eighties. A talented composer, producer, and musician, Vangelis is renowned for composing soundtracks to films such as 'Blade Runner', 'Chariots Of Fire', and '1492: Conquest of Paradise'. With over 60 albums to his name, many of them collaborations.

His unique style has influenced artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Kitaro, Mike Oldfield,and Tangerine Dream among others. Despite his passing on May 17th ,2022 due to complications from COVID-19 treatment in Paris France at the age of 79,his musical legacy continues to inspire generations.
