Big Brown House was formed in the fall of 1985 by Antioch College students Adrian Garver, Roger Garufi, Ben London and Steve Moriarty. They recorded their only album, Scrappy James, in the basement of a house in Ann Arbor Michigan in the summer of 1988 on a Tascam 4 track. The album was released in a small run of cassettes later that year. After graduating in 1989, the band relocated to Seattle but unfortunately broke up in 1990. Steve Moriarty went on to play drums for The Gits, Ben London became the singer/guitarist for Alcohol Funnycar and Adrian Garver started D.C. Beggars.
