Alternative Tentacles

Alternative Tentacles is an underground punk record label that was established in 1979 in San Francisco, California, USA. It later expanded to have a sublabel/office in London, UK. The label gained recognition when it released the self-produced single "California Über Alles" for the *Dead Kennedys*. Realizing the potential for an independent label, Alternative Tentacles went on to release records for other bands as well. Originally formed by *East Bay Ray* and *Jello Biafra*, Biafra became the owner of Alternative Tentacles in the mid-1980s. However, it's important to note that Alternative Tentacles no longer owns the rights to Dead Kennedys recordings due to a lawsuit in 2000.
