Decca

Decca

Decca is one of the longest-running names in recorded music, founded in 1929 by Edward Lewis. Established in the UK and also active in the US, the label has worked across popular music, classical and soundtrack releases without drawing hard lines between them.

That breadth still says a lot about Decca’s identity. In this selection alone, you can trace a catalogue that moves from Marianne Faithfull, David Bowie and Sophie Ellis-Bextor to composers and performers including Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi, Hania Rani and Dario Marianelli. Decca’s history is substantial, but what keeps it distinct is its ability to place major pop records, film music and contemporary classical work under the same banner without making any of it feel out of place.
