Mutant, together with Lakeshore Records and Legendary Entertainment, presents The Toxic Avenger — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, an audacious and eclectic collection of score and original songs by Brooke and Will Blair. In Macon Blair’s reimagining of the Troma cult classic, the Blairs embrace the chaos, humor, and heartfelt strangeness of the original trilogy. Their guitar-heavy orchestral score ricochets between surfy crime-jazz, occult rock, Bossa Nova, superhero-inspired themes, and an off-the-rails rendition of Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” complete with bodily sound effects and the Prague Philharmonic. The duo also deliver in-world songs ranging from nu-rap/slop-rock anthems by the villainous Killer Nutz to a tender Doo Wop ballad by fictional ’50s group The Whoopsie Dews. Over 120 musicians across eight countries contributed, including Kyiv’s Medirecon string ensemble, recorded by generator during power outages in the early Russian occupation.

Written and directed by their brother Macon Blair and starring Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon, the film follows janitor Winston Gooze as he mutates into an unlikely hero battling corrupt corporate forces to save his son and community. The soundtrack reflects that same wild energy, honoring the anything-goes spirit of Troma while forging something new. The release includes liner notes from Macon, Brooke, and Will Blair.
