I Like You is a self-lacerating love song, stacked full of uncanny cultural references and propelled along by a Sparks-does-Common People energy. The A-side’s Single Version of the track starts serenely with its colliery brass band intro, before Mark Ralph’s signature mix amps things up, transforming the track into the pumping, sad-lad banger that was its destiny. The B-side, meanwhile, takes things down a notch, featuring a Soulwax-inspired remix of the same track from rising producer and mixer, Locum. Mixed by Alexis Smith (Speedy Wunderground), mastered by Heba Kadry (Cate Le Bon, Lucy Dacus) and recorded with former bandmate Lawrence Hart.

DC Gore says, “Some things I like, some things I’ve been told to. This track is like an anti “Losing My Edge' - for someone on the periphery.”

Rough Trade think that some songs deserve to be on a 7" single and I Like You is one of the songs of 2022. It's an instant and joyous pop nugget and we begged Double Six / Domino to press it on 7" just for Rough Trade Shops.
