Product description
Trends come and trends go but Nick Heyward is proof that great song writing is timeless.
After a string of hits with Haircut 100 ('Favourite Shirt (Boy Meets Girl)', Love Plus One, 'Fantastic Day'...) and his own solo entries on the chart ('Whistle Down The Wind', 'Take That Situation', 'Blue Hat For A Blue Day'), the '90s saw Nick signed to a new label, and releasing his fourth album From Monday To Sunday. Featuring the singles 'Kite' and 'He Doesn't Love You Like I Do', it pulled off the difficult trick of sounding both fresh and a little nostalgic at the same time.
It was followed two years later by the equally well-crafted Tangled, which featured former Ride / future Oasis bass player Andy Bell among the supporting cast. In '97, Nick was embraced by the embodiment of the era's music scene Creation Records (at one time or other, home to both the aforementioned bands), where he released the album The Apple Bed.
Curated by Nick, 1993-1998 The Epic and Creation Years is a 76 track 4CD box set that brings together those three brilliant albums, alongside all the relevant B-sides and bonus tracks, demos, live recordings, and previously unreleased songs. Presented in Deluxe 7” packaging, it includes a 24-page booklet, featuring a brand-new interview with Nick from author and journalist Daryl Easlea.
